Phil
Hello, and welcome to BBC Learning English. I’m Phil.
And I’m going to tell you how you can talk about actions in the present. So the question is – do you say ‘I’m doing something’ or ‘I do something’?
What you need to ask is – is it something that you’re doing right now? Or is it something that is always true?
So for example, if I say ‘I’m drinking coffee.’ It’s true right now!
If you want to talk about what you do every day – I get up at 6 o’clock. I leave home at 7. It’s always true!
Now we know you’re watching a video right now.
用法總結
Present continuous vs present simple
現在進行時和一般現在時
1. To talk about something that you are doing right now, use the present continuous tense.
描述正在進行的動作,用現在進行時。
- I‘m drinking coffee.
- You‘re watching a video.
2. To talk about something that is always true, use the present simple tense.
描述習慣性動作,用一般現在時。
- I get up at 6 o’clock.
- I leave home at 7.
